Help Center

Answers to the most common questions, plus an AI assistant below that can look up your own account's real job and payout status if you're signed in.

Ask GroundBid Support

Ask about signing in, payouts, escrow, disputes, or anything else. Sign-in-specific questions (like "where's my payout") are answered using your real account data — sign in first for those. This never replaces a human for disputes or policy exceptions; it will tell you plainly when something needs our team.

Signing In & Passwords

I forgot my password / can't log in

GroundBid accounts use securely-hashed passwords, so support can't look yours up or tell you what it is — but we can reset it for you right away. Email support@groundbid.app with the email address on your account and our team will issue a temporary password within a few minutes. Use that to log in, then set a new password from My Account.

Why do I need a verification code every time I sign in?

Two-factor email verification is required on every account — homeowners, providers, and staff alike, with no way to opt out. It's one of the ways we keep escrowed payments and account access secure.

Payments, Escrow & Payouts

How does escrow work?

When a homeowner accepts a bid, payment is collected immediately and held by GroundBid — not sent to the provider — until the homeowner confirms the job complete. GroundBid retains a 10% commission; the provider receives the remaining 90% once escrow releases.

Where's my payout? (for providers)

Sign in and ask the AI assistant above — it checks your job's real escrow status rather than guessing. In short: if the homeowner hasn't confirmed completion yet, escrow hasn't released and that's the only thing pending. If it shows as paid, that's Stripe's own payout timing on their end, typically a few business days. If something looks off, email support@groundbid.app with the job number.

Do you support multiple currencies?

Yes — escrow funding supports multiple currencies depending on the job's location.

Jobs & Bidding

The provider never showed up / the job wasn't actually completed

Your payment is still held safely in escrow and has not been released to the provider, so nothing is at risk while this gets sorted out. Disputes over completed work go through GroundBid's staged process: direct resolution between you and the provider, platform mediation, and — if still unresolved — a final platform decision. Email support@groundbid.app with the job number and what happened, or ask the AI assistant above. See Trust & Safety for the full policy.

No one bid on my job — is something broken?

Not necessarily. This happens on jobs where fewer providers currently cover the category or area — it isn't a technical issue. You can re-post the job to try again, or broaden the description or category if it's a good fit for related work.

Why can't I see other providers' bid amounts?

GroundBid is a sealed-bid marketplace — bid amounts are never visible to competing providers, only the number of bids received. This encourages honest, well-considered pricing instead of last-minute undercutting.

Reporting a Concern

A provider or homeowner asked me to pay/be paid outside GroundBid

Don't agree to it — paying outside GroundBid removes your escrow protection, meaning there's no dispute process or refund path if the work isn't done as agreed. This is a violation of GroundBid's platform rules. Tell the AI assistant above what happened, or email support@groundbid.app directly — reports like this always go to our trust & safety team for review, not a routine reply.

How do I report any other safety or trust concern?

Email support@groundbid.app with details. See the full Trust & Safety policy for how enforcement and disputes work.
